Employment law governs the relationship between employers and employees and establishes the rights, responsibilities and obligations that arise within the workplace.
Employment matters may include issues concerning employment contracts, workplace disputes, disciplinary proceedings, termination of employment, workplace policies, and alleged breaches of statutory or contractual rights. These matters often require consideration of the circumstances surrounding the employment relationship, the applicable legal framework, and the rights and obligations of the parties involved.

Medical malpractice arises where the care provided by a healthcare professional or institution falls below the applicable standard of care and results in injury, harm or loss to a patient.
Matters in this area may involve misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis, surgical errors, medication errors, inadequate treatment, failure to obtain informed consent, or other instances of alleged medical negligence. Such claims generally require careful consideration of the medical evidence, the applicable standard of care, and the extent of any resulting injury or loss.
Public law concerns the relationship between individuals and the State, and the exercise of powers and functions by public authorities.
In Barbados, public law matters may arise in relation to decisions or actions taken by government ministries, statutory bodies, public officials and other public authorities. These may include issues of judicial review, administrative decision-making, constitutional rights, procedural fairness and the legality of the exercise of public power.

Family law addresses the legal rights, responsibilities and relationships that arise within families and between spouses, partners and other family members.
Family law matters may include divorce, separation, matrimonial property, maintenance, child custody and access, guardianship, adoption, and other issues affecting the welfare and legal interests of family members. Such matters often involve both legal and personal considerations and require careful attention to the circumstances and interests of those involved.

Conveyancing encompasses the legal processes involved in buying, selling, transferring and financing interests in land and property. It involves ensuring that the parties’ interests are properly documented and that the relevant legal and registration requirements are satisfied.
Matters may include residential and commercial property transactions, agreements for sale, title investigations, searches and requisitions, preparation and review of conveyancing documents, mortgages and charges, transfers of property, and completion of transactions. Conveyancing may also involve addressing issues relating to title, boundaries, easements, restrictive covenants and other interests affecting property

Wills and estates encompass the planning and legal administration of a person's affairs and assets during and following their lifetime. A properly prepared estate plan can provide for the distribution of assets, identify those intended to benefit from an estate, and help address matters concerning dependants and personal wishes.
Matters in this area may include the preparation and execution of wills, estate planning, probate, applications for grants of representation, administration of estates, resealing of grants, claims against estates, and the transfer and distribution of estate assets. Estate administration may also involve identifying and valuing assets, settling liabilities, and addressing issues that arise among beneficiaries or other persons with an interest in the estate.

Property management involves the day-to-day oversight and administration of residential and commercial properties, with attention to the interests of both property owners and occupants.
Matters may include tenancy arrangements, lease administration, rent collection, property inspections, maintenance coordination, tenant communications, renewals and terminations, and addressing issues that arise during the landlord-tenant relationship. Effective property management also involves ensuring that the relevant contractual and legal obligations are understood and observed throughout the tenancy.
